RLWC2021 Schools Video Competition Winner Announced

Howes Primary School from Coventry are announced as the winners of the RLWC2021 Schools Video Competition. As winning entry, their video will be used to promote their city of Coventry ahead of the tournament.

Today (21st July 2021) Rugby League World Cup are delighted to announce the winner of their school’s video competition.

Schools from around the country have been sending in their video entries over the past few months to promote their towns and cities as we lead up to the tournament starting on October 23rd at St James’ Park Newcastle.

Each video entered into the competition took us on a comprehensive journey around their town or city showing fans of the 21 nations taking part at RLWC2021 the many diverse and interesting things to do on their travels. From history and culture to music, sport, and the arts, the enthusiasm and creativity of all the schools was fantastic with the highlights pulled together into a montage video to thank all the children for their incredible efforts.

The panel narrowed their final decision to three outstanding videos each with their own style and information provided but unfortunately, we could have just one winner.

The Runners up who will receive CreatedBy equipment from the RLWC2021 are:

  1. Ashurst Primary School, St Helens
  2. Great Sankey Primary School, Warrington

And now we can announce that the winning school in our Video Competition is... Howes Primary School, in Coventry.

See the winning video here: - HOWES PRIMARY SCHOOL

The school will receive CreatedBy equipment along with a visit from one of our RLWC2021 Ambassadors and the RLWC2021 Trophies.

Congratulations to everyone at Howes Primary School on the fantastic video that was put together.

The video takes us on a journey around the historical City of Coventry from the destruction of World War II to the rebuilding of the city. The music, sport, culture and much more are all highlighted in this very informative and exciting video.

Rebecca Bollands, Deputy Head Teacher at Howes Primary School said:

“Our pupils loved taking part in this competition as it gave them the opportunity to showcase our city. They hope that it will show visitors how much there is to see in Coventry and how much history there is in the city.
"We are especially proud to be hosting a Rugby League World Cup game in Coventry and our pupils are looking forward to welcoming the teams and the fans.”

Coventry will play host to Australia vs Scotland on October 29th at Coventry Building Society Arena.
