Team Bio

The Scotland Wheelchair national team have mostly played against Ireland and Wales since the inception of the team back in 2012. This is due to the Celtic Cup competition, in which Scotland, Wales and Ireland have played an annual round robin tournament since 2015. However, from the six editions of the tournament, the Braveheart’s have failed to be the winners of the Celtic Cup. Scotland Rugby League recently hosted the 2021 Celtic Cup at The University of Edinburgh’s Sport and Exercise Pleasance facility in June. Unfortunately in home surroundings, Scotland Wheelchair lost both of their Celtic Cup games to Wales and Ireland.

Scotland Wheelchair have failed to win a Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup game across the six matches they have competed in over two tournaments. Scotland’s qualification for the RLWC2021 has resulted in being drawn in an exciting group in London’s Copper Box Areana with opponents Australia, Norway and hosts of the tournament, England.
