Team Bio

The Norway Wheelchair Team will make their debut at a World Cup when competing in the RLWC2021. Their qualification into this years tournament will also signify the Norway Wheelchair team being the first ever Scandinavian team to play in any Rugby League World Cup.

Norway have been drawn in the same group as the RLWC2021 hosts in England, meaning they will play all three of their group matches at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park – against fellow newcomers to the World Cup, Spain in their first match, before they face the daunting double of England and Australia.

The governing body (Rugby League Norge) is keen to spread the reach of the sport more widely round the country as the team prepare for the challenge to face the world’s best teams at the RLWC2021. International Rugby League has seen the positive impact that can be made by heritage players with more experience of Rugby League for a developing nation such as Norway, and as such Rugby League Norge hope anyone with Norwegian heritage can feel inspired by a Norway team competing at a World Cup to want to get involved.
