Team Bio

The France women's national Rugby League team has been administered by the French Rugby League Federation since 2007, where the Chanticleers played their first full international against England. This was the start of many matches between the two sides for France, in which 17 matches were played across a ten-year period. However, apart from one drawn match in 2015, the Chanticleers have failed to beat the RLWC2021 hosts. But recent victories against Italy and Turkey has helped with preparations for the RLWC2021, and will be looking to put in a good performance, especially with a home Rugby League World Cup on the horizon in 2025.

Out of the nine Women’s Rugby League World Cup matches France have played, they have only managed to win the one game. They will be looking to better that record when competing in the RLWC2021, especially having not played in the Women’s World Cup since 2013. The Chanticleers RLWC2021 group consists of current world number one ranked team Australia, the most successful Women’s Rugby League World Cup team in New Zealand, and the ever-rising Cook Islands.
