Tournament engages business community to help drive engagement and dialogue to shape 2021 success

The Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has today announced the launch of the RLWC2021 Business Club to build engagement and best practice from senior business figures of some of the world’s best-known brands over the next three years.

The club has been set-up as part of the tournament’s commercial strategy to facilitate networking, discussion and knowledge share with the aim of establishing corporate best practice and to support the commercial partnership and acquisition programme. The club will meet on a quarterly basis to discuss a range of opportunities for the tournament at that particular time, including marketing and commercial decisions.

The select members cover a range of backgrounds, with a focus on transcending the core Rugby League community. The Business Club includes representatives from companies such as Lloyds, The Co-operative Bank, Freuds, BGL Group, and Eversheds Sutherland,  who became the first Official Partner of the tournament in October 2017.

Speaking about the launch of the Business Club, Jon Dutton, Chief Executive of the Rugby League World Cup 2021, added:

“Knowledge transfer has been an intrinsic part of our planning for 2021 and the Business Club will add a new dimension to this strategic approach to learning. We have a huge appetite to immerse ourselves in this ever changing environment and in doing so engage with as many different communities as possible to ensure we deliver our ultimate aim – to deliver the best Rugby League World Cup of all time.
“We held our initial RLWC2021 Business Club meetings recently and the debate amongst our members was eye-opening, already delivering some fantastic ideas that will help us shape some key decisions in upcoming months. I’d like to thank those who have joined the club and look forward to their continued input.”
