We're launching our 'Squad Trips' with TXGB to connect local tourism suppliers with fans of the tournament
‘Squad Trips’ provides fans with a one-stop platform for their RLWC2021 official ticketing, accommodation and leisure needs
‘Squad Trips’ provides fans with a one-stop platform for their RLWC2021 official ticketing, accommodation and leisure needs. It will connect thousands of tourism suppliers from across RLWC2021 host towns, cities and surrounding areas, to the expected 750,000 fans attending matches during the tournament in October and November next year.
The digital platform supports all businesses across the tourism sector, celebrating the diversity of the industry by being accessible to businesses of all sizes, and aims to grow the value and volume of tourism in England.
Squad trips initially launched for Newcastle, the location of the tournament’s opening ceremony and match at St James’ Park, and Manchester, the location of the Women’s and Men’s double header at Old Trafford – where demand for overnight stays is expected to be high. More of the 18 host towns and cities, and further suppliers, will be added to ‘Squad Trips’ in the coming weeks.
‘Squad Trips’ shows live availability, pricing and content to fans, whilst providing suppliers with sales data to analyse trends, grow their business and access new markets and customers.
TXGB was launched in 2019 in partnership with VisitEngland, to address the fragmented tourism distribution landscape. It allows tourism businesses to broaden their distribution and allows distributors access to a wide range of bookable product. The collaboration with RLWC2021 is the first dedicated channel within TXGB for a large scale sports event.

The ‘Squad Trips’ platform can be viewed via: rlwc2021.com/squadtrips. Fans who wish to purchase official match tickets, will also have to purchase at least one other accommodation or activities product on ‘Squad Trips’. Fans who have already secured their match tickets to RLWC2021 can also use the platform to book accommodation and activities.
