RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP 2021 ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH PROCUREMENT EXPERTS YPO

• YPO to manage two-year procurement programme for RLWC2021
• Several new ‘request for proposals’ issued recently

Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has announced that procurement experts, YPO, will be an official supplier for the tournament.

YPO is a leading public sector procurement organisation with over 40 years’ experience, which includes access to over 100 different procurement frameworks, and is 100% publicly owned by 13 local authorities.

The company will provide dedicated expert resource to support RLWC2021 with its procurement programme and ensure an efficient process. In addition, YPO will support the RLWC2021 team with supplier and market engagement to secure world class companies and delivery.

A range of services are due to be sourced over the next two years with an expected 30 RFPs including media, communications, logistics, travel, technology, analytics, equipment and insurance.

RLWC2021 is aiming to deliver the most digitally connected sports entertainment event in 2021, as well as the most attended and viewed Rugby League World Cup ever, and the appointment of YPO will further help to deliver these ambitions.

RLWC2021 has also recently released details of the latest Request for Proposals (RFPs), which included ‘Creative Brand Development’, ‘Independent Evaluation of the RLWC2021 Board’ and ‘Readiness’.
