RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP TEAMS UP WITH MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY TO OFFER EXCITING CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY
Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has joined forces with Manchester Metropolitan University to offer one 50% fee reduction scholarship and a 15% subsidy on a new Masters degree. The qualification has been designed by an expert team of sports professionals and business academics to meet the specialist business needs of the sports industry.
A 15% fee reduction, worth £1,950 in total, is available to the rugby league family who has a passion or affiliation for the sport. A 50% fee reduction scholarship will also be available for someone who can explain, in 500 words or less, how the course will enhance their career and professional development.
The Global Online MSc Sport Business, Management and Policy course has been devised in conjunction with an experienced team of sports professionals from prestigious organisations including Sport England and the Football Foundation. Learning from academics at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School - a double-accredited institution - students will cover a curriculum grounded in the real world of sport and develop expertise in international strategy, sports marketing, event management, sports administration, data analytics, sports policy and more.
In 2021, the Rugby League World Cup is coming to England, and as well as working on an ambitious global tournament, championing inclusivity and authenticity, RLWC2021 is giving a member of the Rugby League family a chance to add a MSc onto their resume.
Throughout the programme, students will gain the skills needed to grow a career in the sector, opening up further opportunities in areas that include sports event management, marketing, government policy, international sports advisory and the private sector.
Jon Dutton, Chief Executive at RLWC2021, commented:
“We feel it is our responsibility to enhance the careers of everyone involved with RLWC2021. Thanks to our partnership with MMU we have a chance to do that.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a member of our rugby league family to leave with a great qualification, which will enhance the priceless experience they will have gained while working on a global tournament.”
Students have the option to begin their studies in May, September or January and study and pay for one subject unit at a time.
