Simon Brindle - Creative Lead
Simon, what do you like most about your role as creative lead?
It’s the act of creating. I’ve always been a very hands-on type of person so this really ticks the boxes, giving me the opportunity to bring all sorts to life. Whether it be print, digital or motion, I just like to create something from nothing.
Even though I’ve been at it for a few years now I still get a buzz when I see something I’ve worked on being rolled out publicly. Having the chance to work on the branding for RLWC2021 is an incredibly exciting journey. I love that as a team we’re all working towards one very special event in a few years time.
What is your favourite sporting memory?
As a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan we don’t get many European nights, but watching them take on the mighty Bayern Munich over in Germany was something I’ll remember for a long time. It was a case of get there by whatever means - we ended up going via London and Austria but was well worth the trip! After taking an early lead we fell behind 2-1 just after half time, but up stepped super Kevin Davies to grab a late equaliser!
If you weren’t designer, what would you be?
I’ve always liked design of some sort, when younger always wanted to be a bridge architect, so I would like to think that’s what I would be doing.
