What attracted you to working for RLWC2021?

My passion for all sports and major sporting tournaments is huge. Working in the sports industry is something that I have been inspiring to reach and work towards since my school days, and what better way for me to start on this journey than by working within an organisation that shares such similar values and ideals that I pride myself to work towards every single day. I understand how much this tournament means for so many different people, and what it can provide for the ever rising global sport of Rugby League. So as a devoted sports fan myself, I am eager to take upon the challenge of delivering the best ever Rugby League World Cup to date. I am extremely excited by the opportunity to show and enhance my personal and technical skills amongst such an innovative, collaborative, and friendly team. All while working together to add value and play our part in the success of such an inclusive, world class tournament, while above all leaving a long lasting legacy for current and future generations to come. 

What is your favourite sporting memory?

I have been fortunate enough throughout my life to have personally experienced so many amazing sporting moments. From my very first ever live sports event (when I was aged only 4 months old!), where my mum and grandad took me to Goodison Park to watch Everton FC, to going full circle and playing at Goodison Park myself in the Merseyside Schools Cup Final with my Mum and Grandad watching from the directors box. However, my continuous hobby of watching sport live has allowed me to benefit from watching numerous high quality and thrilling sporting games and events across multiple sports both here in the UK and abroad. There are many moments I could pick that I have been luckily to have seen live. What comes into my mind though, is the summer of 2019, where cricket in England shone. Being at Old Trafford for the fifth day of the fourth Test Match of the Ashes series that summer, although that being the day I saw Australia regain the Ashes unfortunately, it made me reflect within that moment of what an unforgettable summer of cricket I had seen in this country both live and on the telly. The World Cup and Ashes series provided me with some of the most compelling viewing of cricket I had seen in my lifetime; from England winning the World Cup 'by the barest of margins', to Ben Stokes taking England to an epic Ashes Test Match win at Headingly. All these epic moments from that summer and the national public interest it brought, made me feel really proud to be a cricket fan.
