Tim Weaver - Team Services Consultant
What attracted you to working for RLWC2021?
Working with the RLWC team is a massive opportunity to learn from some of the best in the sports industry. The chance to add my experience and knowledge, from working in professional football, while learning the intricacies of a new sport in a new country while working with such a world wide team is an opportunity I was not likely to pass up. I look forward to using my experience and skill to add value to the team and provide a world class event for the supporters, players and staff.
What’s your favourite sporting memory?
As a fan, attending the Michigan v Ohio State (American) football game in 2003. Michigan won 28-14 in front of 112,118 spectators and then rushing onto the field, at the famous "Big House" in Ann Arbor to celebrate with my fellow students and players. Working in MLS for Real Salt Lake, my first match was away to Tigres in the CONCACAF Champions League that was an incredible atmosphere, if not a good result for my team. Lastly, as a long time Swindon Town supporter, I attended a match in 2009 at the County Ground against Scunthorpe that saw the Robins win 4-2 after being down 2-0 at the half. Four second half goals, including one from Hal Robson-Kanu and one from club legend Lee Peacock secured the points for Swindon on the day.
