Jon Dutton - CEO

Jon, how did you end up becoming a CEO?

I have been fortunate to have spent my entire career in sports administration and this is undoubtedly the pinnacle. I have been working on the project since 2015 and was delighted when I was offered the role of leading this hugely exciting tournament.

What is your favourite rugby league memory?

When I was still a Primary School (1982) Leigh won the old Rugby League Championship with John Woods and Des Drummond my childhood heroes in their pomp. Leigh had to draw with Whitehaven on the last day of the season and Coach Alex Murphy guided them to a tense 13–4 victory, after Leigh trailed 4–1 at half time.

If you weren’t RLWC2021 CEO, what would you be?

A Park or Wildlife Ranger in Australia’s Northern Territory.
